A Participatory Approach to Minimizing Food Waste in the Food Industry—A Manual for Managers

  Based on their experiences gained in 15 companies in the catering sector and the bakery industry, the authors present a participatory concept to reduce food waste in the food industry. This five-phase concept, adapted to the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle applied in the Total Quality Management, involves a participatory approach where employees are integrated into the process of developing and implementing measures to counteract food waste. The authors describe how the participatory approach can be used to raise awareness of the topic of food waste to improve employee commitment and responsibility. As a result, the authors further offer a Manual for Managers wishing to reduce food waste in their respective organizations. This manual includes information on the methodologies applied in each step of the improvement cycle. It also describes why the steps are necessary, and how results can be documented. Participatory management: an opportunity for human resources in education

 The present paper refines the participatory management (PM) concept in educational organization by adopting a multidimensional approach. The author examined simultaneously fifteen components of Participatory management namely: 1-Trust 2- Decision making 3- Team work 4- Share power 5- Motivation 6- Communication 7- Involvement 8- Collaboration 9- Democracy 10- transparency 11- Innovation 12- Respect 13- Problem solving 14- Identify common goal15- qualitarian.The data were obtained from a sample of 903 Iranian female teachers. The results indicate, there is significant relationship between all of components of participatory management. The Result of Developing Secondary School Students' Public Conscience through Process-Knowledge Management in Thailand

  This research uses Mixed-Methodology applied research and development together with participatory action research. The model is appropriate for the context environment. The participants were able to complete the learning activities in participatory forms of knowledge management, using the following five-step model: 1) Knowledge Identification, 2) Knowledge Creation, 3) Knowledge Preservation, 4) Knowledge Sharing, and 5) Knowledge Application. Bridging the Dichotomous Gaps between Trade Unions and Management of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

  The study examined the relationship between activities of trade unions and management of tertiary institutions in a bid to provide empirical solution to the lingering industrial actions by the staff unions in various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The population comprises all tertiary institutions in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Four hundred and fifty subjects consisted of 390 members of unions that were selected using proportionate sampling techniques and 60 top management staff of the selected institutions was selected purposively. Two self-designed instruments namely, "Trade Unions and management of Tertiary Institutions Questionnaire" (TUMTIQ) and "Management of Tertiary Institutions Questionnaire (MTIQ)" were used to collect relevant data from the subjects. Participatory Management, Professional Development, and Teachers' Job Performance in Public Secondary Schools in Ogun State, Nigeria

  This correlational survey study examined professional development, participatory management, and teachers' job performance in public secondary schools in Ogun State, Nigeria. The sample size comprised 504 participants selected through a multi-stage sampling technique from 12,745 teachers in 217 public secondary schools. The study was guided by two null hypotheses, tested at 0.05 level of significance. Two researcher-designed instruments namely. Participatory Management and Professional Development Questionnaire (PM/PDQ) and Teachers' Job Performance Scale (TJPS), were used to collect data. The Pearson Product-Moment Correlation statistical tool was used for data analysis. Results showed that teachers' job performance was significantly and positively related to both professional development and participatory management respectively.
